Fundraising

Summit Hill Diligence Fire Company is proud to announce the Diligence Fund-Raising Committee. Everybody is welcome to join the fund raising committee!!

As a non-profit organization we operate on donations. As such we are constantly holding fundraisers not only for our organization but for local residents who are experiencing hard ship. We are open to any new fundraising ideas, if you have an idea and would like to submit it click here.

Now more then ever we need your support! With more organizations soliciting donations each year we find it harder to receive the funds necessary to operate. A volunteer fire company not only donates hours for training and fundraising purposes but saves the tax payers money by having to pay little or nothing for fire protection.

The 2007 Fund Drive

WE NEED YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!

Our annual Fund Drive is one of the most important fund raising efforts undertaken by the Diligence Fire Company No. 1. Because members of the Company manage the fund drive, the expenses incurred consist mainly of printing the newsletters and envelopes, as well as the postage for the direct mail campaign. For example approximately $29.00 of a $30.00 donation goes directly into the General Fund of the Diligence Fire Company No. 1.

The Fund drive begins with an intial direct mail donation request, which is mailed out, to homes and businesses within our response area. Along with the donation request, a newsletter with fire prevention tips, and fire company news is sent to each home and business. Then a follow-up reminder is sent to those who have not yet contributed.

Community members or businesses who wish to make a donation to the Diligence Fire Company No. 1 may simply fill out the donation form and enclose a check for your tax deductible donation, and mail it to:

Employer Matched Donations

Many larger companies also have programs in place that will match an employee's donation to a charity of their choice. for instance if you donate $50.00 to the fire company, your employer would then send a check to the fire company for $100 including a matching amount of $50.00. Each year millions of dollars are left undistributed to charitable organization because companies don't know who to give money to. You can help by contacting your employer to see if they have a matching gift program, or if they don't how you can help start one.

In Kind Gifts and Services

Please consider an in kind gift as a way to support the Summit Hill Diligence Fire Company No. 1. Oftentimes, individuals or businesses are able to offer services or products that we can use or that would otherwise benefit the Fire Company. Items such as office supplies, furniture, vehicles, excess inventory and services can be contributed and possibly written off as a charitable contribution for tax purposes.

At our annual banquet each year, we give out service awards to our members, to show our appreciation for the years of sacrifice and service to the community by both the members and their families. Donations of gift certificates to local restaurants would be an excellent way to say thank you.
